Our Next Meeting

Greetings to all and I trust you have been enjoying the last of the summer.  After our July/August break, during which a very successful abstract workshop was held, WAA is eager to get back into our busy fall schedule, and our monthly meetings on the second Thursday of the month.  We are delighted to welcome dynamic speakers, a terrific watercolor workshop led by Betty Brown in October, and our Holiday Dinner to be held at the Blockade Runner this year.

The plan for our first fall meeting on September 10th has changed.  We are going to have a WAA Committee Fair!  You're probably unaware how much fun the committee chairs and members have putting on our various shows, thinking up and promoting our outreach projects, arranging speakers and workshops, and generally working together with like-minded folk to make WAA a viable and enjoyable organization.  There are many angles to making WAA the fun place it is, and now is your chance to get involved in the group which appeals to you most.  On Thursday, September 10th, we shall have our usual cocktail half-hour at 6.30pm, business meeting at 7pm, and around 8pm we'll have a sort of Opportunity Expo!  Our Board members and all committee heads will have visuals and information on what they do exactly and how to join in.  This gives you the opportunity to ask questions and to get to know other members and guests. There will be drawings for goodies at each committee table.

This event is not intended to be a "talking heads" situation, but a lively and interesting give and take.  We have such talented, friendly and interesting members with backgrounds in all sorts of artistic media from all over the world.  Now is our chance to get to know each other better.  See you all in September.

Ann Lees, WAA Education Chair
